Kapoiakous

This is an alien species that do not have facial features. They are grey skinned, with only ears and noses on their faces. Though they may not be able to physically see, they are able to see with their mind's eye. They communicate telepathically. Something that really sets them apart in my opinion, making them unique companions, are that these aliens are able to listen to the balance of a person's heart, and they then also fall in love with that balance.

From what I understand from them, a heart balance is what makes up a person. Perhaps in simple english terms, "loving the person for who they are, and not for their appearance." However, a heart balance is so much more intricate than just that. The heart balance that they listen to, shows all of the past that has been experienced, the wounds suffered, the emotions that burst forth and so much more. Maybe the only way I can try to explain would be that their heart balance is how we see a soul in it's entirety?

These aliens fall in love, and love to cuddle up right next to their partner. They are monogamous and don't have multiple partners, but doesn't mind if their partners aren't monogamous. They find the one balance that they love, and there is no other. Their favourite thing to do is to listen to the balance of their partner. These aliens can also sense when the balance is getting... off-balance, for lack of a better word. They try their best to help their partners when that happens.

These aliens are extreme insomniacs since birth, and the only way that they can get a good night's sleep, is to find that balance. Listening to the balance soothes and calms them, allowing them to relax and drift off to sleep. Kapoiakous travel out of their colony frequently, inside their spaceships. They travel far and wide to find their fated balance, as well as to bring back DNA from other species. The balance can span across multiple race and species, some also find it amongst themselves but it is very rare. These aliens do not have the ability to procreate, even though they do have sexual organs. They do not experience sexual urges until they find their balance. They are birthed by splicing DNA from them and others, which are then combined in a laboratory in their colony. Most of them die young if they don't find their balance, as their body cannot handle the stress of not having enough rest.
