Gemmies

What do you get when you add slimes and gemstones together? That’s right, you get Gemmies. These are slimes that evolved and adapted over time in a crystal cave system, by eating and absorbing the crystals into them. There are many different colour types of this slime, each correlating to a specific gemstone.

These slimes, due to evolution, started to produce the  gemstones they ate. Because they can eat what they grow, they are self sustaining creatures. These slimes are pets, and don’t really have the intelligence that you would see in Bleamies, Hatties or Notties. They cannot communicate verbally or even telepathically in a way that you can understand them, but you can sort of know how they are feeling via their expressions.

They make good pets for any beings that like shiny and precious gemstones, or just love slimes in general. Gemmies are soft to touch, but the gemstones growing on them aren’t soft. Living Gemmies are very sensitive to extreme bright light, and will close their eyes when strong light shines directly on them, and try to hide away. Dim soft lights are okay, and their gemstones reflect the soft light magnificently.

Since only spirits of their kind will be conjured, you do not have to worry about bright lights. If you are still worried, bring a eye mask to let them wear if going out. They may close their eyes out of habit, but know that it does not hurt them.
